Secret Reader ~ Grandpa!

Brendan's teacher, Miss Luther, is our very favorite first grade teacher.  She started off the year by extending an open invitation to parents, grandparents, friends and family of the class to be a Secret Reader.  The Secret is that the children do not know who is coming to the class ahead of time and the Reader is that you read to the class. 

Brent enjoyed volunteering in the class and being the Secret Reader a few times while he was home during his paternity leave in October and November.  I also enjoyed being the Secret Reader before Thanksgiving and reading Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving.  (It's so cute ~ I highly recommend it)

This time around we had a very special surprise Secret Reader.... Grandpa Van!  He read Jerome to the class and it was adorable!  That's Brendan in the brown shirt on the left. 

After the reading, we had about 40 minutes before lunch with the kids in the lunchroom so Grandpa, Emery and I walked over to the Cherry Creek Ecological Park and enjoyed the lovely weather a bit.
